Best punch-up?

Postby Harvest Gold MG on Fri Aug 15, 2008 12:31 am

Two come to mind for me.
All Mod Cons--Terry takes on the two thugs in the final scenes.
Good,hard violence.
Rocky Eight and a Half--Terry's come back once he realised he's been set-up.

The fight at the end of Another Bride, Another Groom on the bus is quiet a good one and quiet brutal with that bus seat being thrown at one stage :D

Jock McFadden was played by Brian Cox.

For Terry I think I've got to agree with zicobones, the fight on the bus during 'In' is the one that sticks in my mind. As for Ray, it's probably the fight towards the end of 'Opportunity Knocks And Bruises'. Just looking through the episode list of series 9 and it's surprising just how many fight scenes there were at the beginning of that series and then none at all for 7 epsodes until we get to 'A Taste Of Money' which probably had the weakest fight scene ever with Ray hitting a bad guy over the head with a surf board.

The fight at the end of the car lot beggars with Jimmy nail was quite brutal. Nail looks very realistic in that scrap, which doesnt surprise me reading his biography. before Auf pet he was always in fights.

The fight scenes at the end of another bride, another groom, old school tie and not a bad lad dad where pretty good. Dennis Waterman is pretty good in the fight scenes and looks as though he could have been a half decent amature boxer

He was a member of a boxing club in his youth and i think this shows in some of the fight scenes.
His brother represented Great Britain at the Olympics and held several boxing titles but was eventually injured out of the sport.

That figures, it definitely show in Dennis Waterman's fight scenes. When you compare them to some of the fight scenes in say, the professionals you really notice the difference. As much as I like the professioanls, Martin Shaw couldnt throw a punch to save his life!

Just watched"Get Daley".
I reckon the fight in Dermots garage to be the last of Terry's serious scraps.

"Bury My Half At Waltham Green" was on ITV 4 yesterday and i have to say that the punch Terry gives Jack,(Rose Mellors minder),when he breaks into Terry's flat is a definite heartstopper!
