Heading For the Light

Wow. I love the way this is linking back to the very first story, and is so deftly written. Miss Kelly is beautifully drawn - it's cracking stuff.

The Peer and the Painter

I love the standalones: they fill in the personal detail behind the main stories (No More Games, in this case) and allow us to see more of the characters that form part of that picture.

So this is a lovely piece: revealing, but somehow still private; something that goes to close to, but carefully skirts, whatever it is that makes DC tick.

Brilliant stuff.
I believe in me, mate, cos I was born tall, dark and beautiful - and engagingly modest, of course!

No More Games

Okay, I can't pretend to be startled by plot developments, but I love the way this piece so carefully positions all the characters; as it says, the story is like a game of chess with everyone now on the board and waiting to go. I especially liked the way there's an underlying sense of menace...things are on a knife edge and the characters know it. In the hands of a less able writer that would have been sledgehammered home. Here, it's just an unnerving flicker in the corner of your mind. Chilling and clever.

3745IslandGals Story

That was really good , Thank you. It had me laughing. And I'll have Doyle know there is nothing wrong with my name   I think Bodie was right. I liked Cowley's "mission" to the lads and their reaction to it. The whole story was brilliant

3745IslandGals Story

Great story, IG...it made me chuckle big time ( though I'm a bit disappointed that there was no tank for the party :( ).

CONGRATULATIONS to minderlover and CapriS!!!! If you play your cards right, the Cow might even grant you a pay rise for your excellent results! :)
Now I've done it once, it'll be easier next time.

**pouts** Okay, now that Doyle's locks are extra curly and shiny, we'll go and look for a tank.....and we have a tank sniffing dog with us, so we shall succeed

Nice little story and good idea, IG  The part about Doyle' s curls reminded me of the scene in Fugitive where Bodie said to Doyle "Fancy a quick blow dry?"

The lads better not complain or next time they may be written into a wasteland without any BBs or DDs around but lots of files to process :nana:

Congratulations to ML and Capri also from me, we are very proud of you   Have you already sent your applications to Cowley?

I hope this is not a Bodie pout, Anja. I'd be very very surprised and disappointed
