Has anyone caught this Danish crime show?
It dates from 2004 but the SBS network (similar to Channel 4) has just started screening it. It's clearly a very high quality production and has won an international Emmy award. The reason I mention it is because the show is about a guy (he's the Eagle) who's recruited to be a senior officer in a newly formed task force set up to tackle international crime with jurisdiction across the Nordic parts of Europe.
From the first episode I couldn't quite see how CI5 like the task force turned out to be. The subtitles move very quickly at times, but there seemed to be a Cowleyish woman playing the firm hand, but the eponymous character is a broody and serious alpha male loner type. No inappropriate jokes about severed ears or breezy acceptance of serial girlfriends look likely. Instaed of the buddy relationship there's a contemporary team structure.
It looks like a classy show, tightly scripted with some very tense action. The tone is rather serious, so I'm not expecting any laddish mucking about. The show does, however, contain this gorgeous piece of totty. Woof!
